About The Teacher Network
The Teacher Network (formerly known as Relief Teachers) is a recruitment agency that specialises in finding teachers for schools in South Africa.
We are a member of APSO, the professional body for the SA recruitment industry, and are bound by APSO's code of ethics.
We are a Corporate Member of ISASA, the Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa, and an Associate Member of NAPTOSA.
We belong to BWASA (the Businesswomen's Association of South Africa).
We help schools find the right permanent, temporary, full-time and part-time teachers and other staff. Most of our clients are independent schools but we also work with some state schools.
We are based in South Africa, in Brysanton, though initially we operated from the eastern side of Johannesburg. We have clients on the Witwatersrand, in Pretoria, in Limpopo Province, in the Free State and in KwaZulu-Natal.
As a rule, we don't recommend candidates without interviewing them first. We also prefer to visit schools before making a placement. It is as important to us as it is to the school and the candidate that there should be a good "fit".
Given that the world of education can be a small world, we appreciate the importance of confidentiality - for both our client schools and those who send us their CVs.
Any CVs sent to client schools are to be treated confidentially and destroyed if the candidate is not successful. They may not be forwarded to anyone else.
Should we not find someone suitable for the position, or if the school - for whatever reason - choses not to employ the candidate(s) put forward by us, irrespective of how much time we may have spent on the assignment, there is no charge to the school. If our candidate is successful, the school pays us as per the standard Terms and Conditions.
Candidates are not charged a "registration fee" of any sort - such charges are generally illegal in terms of the Skills & Development Act 97 of 1998 Sub-regulation 8A&B.
Wherever possible or appropriate, we attend conferences and seminars to keep up to speed with what is happening in education and in recruitment.
